Regular Season Round 5: RBS Centrs - Sigulda 82-59

There was no surprise when bottom-rankedSigulda (0-5) was crushed by leader RBS Centrs (4-0) 82-59 on Friday. RBS Centrs trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 23 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Sigulda 's 34. RBS Centrs forced 22 Sigulda turnovers and outrebounded them 53-39 including 24 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when RBS Centrs made 11 blocks. Raidens Saubergs-Lepe stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and Gustavs Kalvans chipped in 18 points. Romans Brols responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and Emils Vikmanis scored 13 points and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. RBS Centrs keep a position of league leader, which they share with 7 other teams. Loser Sigulda still closes the standings with five games lost.
